Unless you requested winding, your yarn will come to you as a hank (big loop). Before starting your project you should wind the yarn into a cake or a ball. If you do not have equipment to do that you can do it manually by hanging the hank over the back of a chair (to keep to from getting tangled) and hand wind into a ball.
We recommend blocking your project after you are done making it. The benefits of blocking are:
-Plump up and relax the fibers giving the finished item a fuller, smoother more flowing drape
-Even tension by smoothing out the stitchers to look uniform giving your project a finished look
-Allows you to stretch your project to the size and shape intended and create flat, straight edges and open up lace work
